MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES

A. WHO MAY BECOME AN OAAP MEMBER?

1. Any legal business entity of good reputation (corporation, company, partnership or single proprietorship) which is directly and actively engaged in outdoor advertising may apply for Regular Membership in the OAAP.

2. Any legal business entity of good reputation which is not directly and actively engaged in outdoor advertising but supplies materials and services for outdoor advertising operators may apply to become an Associate Member of OAAP.

B. HOW CAN A COMPANY BECOME A MEMBER?

1. The company must accomplish the application form for membership and submit all documents required thereof together with the registration fee. NOTE: Membership Fee is NON-REFUNDABLE if the application has been disapproved after the evaluation of the membership committee.

2. The Membership Committee, headed by the chairman and assisted by two (2) or more members shall review and evaluate the application form and documents within ten (10) days from date of submission and subsequently make recommendations to the Board of Directors through OAAP President.

3. The Board of Directors shall meet and approve/discuss the application within five (5) days from receipt of recommendation by the Membership Committee.

4. The Membership Committee shall immediately notify the applicant accordingly.

5. If the application is approved, the Board of Directors shall schedule the induction of the new member for final acceptance into the general membership of the OAAP.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTING PROBATIONARY MEMBERS FOR INDUCTION:

A. Full attendance of two (2) consecutive general membership meetings.

B. Full understanding and implementation of the OAAP’s Code of Ethics and By-Laws.

C. No pending complaints from other members formally filed to grievance committee.

C. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS AND/OR RIGHTS OF BONAFIDE OAAP MEMBER?


1. Use of OAAP /ADBOARD caption in the letterheads, envelopes and other stationeries and signages.

2. Inclusion of company name in the regular listing of bonafide OAAP members in which will be regularly circulated among the members of PANA, 4A’s, ASAP, UPMG, MORES, IBA, KBP and CAAP which are the member-organizations of the Adboard.

3. OAAP representation in case of adverse government ( local or national ) policies and ordinances which may affect the outdoor advertising industry.

4. Accreditation by PANA, 4A’s and other member-associations of Adboard.

D. HOW CAN MEMBERSHIP BE TERMINATED?

1. Dissolution of the company.

2. Failure to pay the membership dues, after three (3) written notices from the treasurer.

3. Three (3) consecutive absences in general and special meetings without legitimate reason.

4. Guilty of illegal and/or unethical practices detrimental to the interest of the association or to another co-member of the association, as declared and/or recommended by the Ethics Committee:

a) Upon recommendation of the Membership Committee, the Grievance Committee and/or the OAAP Board, the President, shall serve notice to the member concerned regarding such violation and request him/her to correct the same within ten (10) days from receipt of notice thereof.

b) A second notice with stronger terms maybe sent to the member concern in case no action was taken within the specified period.

c) The third notice will be a termination notice for the guilty member.

d) The name of the member shall be removed from the regular OAAP Roster of Members.

e) The OAAP, through its President will subsequently inform the Adboard, PANA, 4A’s, OAAP Members, etc. of such termination and/or dissolution, resignation of an OAAP member.

 

E. RESPONSIBILITIES OF A MEMBER

1. To attend all scheduled meetings and get involved in the association’s activities.

2. Prompt payment of membership dues.

3. To abide and uphold all rules and regulations promulgated by OAAP By-Laws and Code of Ethics.
